Dr. Velarie Ansu

I am Velarie Yaa Ansu, PhD, an experienced public health professional with a comprehensive understanding of translating complex scientific research into practical, real-world applications. My expertise lies in bridging the gap between rigorous academic research and practical applications for organizations, industries, and wellness initiatives. My consulting services are designed to assist academic researchers, industries, and organizations in harnessing evidence-based insights for impactful outcomes, particularly within health and wellness domains.
My robust academic background includes a PhD in Health Behavior from the School of Public Health at Indiana University, where my focus was on nutrition research (Health behavior major), complemented by minors in epidemiology and biostatistics. I also hold a master’s degree in nutrition from Utah State University, Logan, and a bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from the University of Ghana.
Recognizing the crucial role of integrated health behaviors, I expanded my expertise through postdoctoral training in sleep health and circadian sciences at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, and the Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami. This advanced specialization allows me to offer unique perspectives on the intricate relationship between diet, sleep, and cardiometabolic health, providing a valuable edge to your research and strategic initiatives.
As part of my ongoing professional development, I am a proud trainee in the National Institutes of Health’s esteemed AIM-AHEAD AI READI Training program, a testament to my dedication to innovation in public health research. Through this advanced training, I am actively developing proficiency in utilizing artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) tools to analyze complex datasets within sleep, nutrition, and health research. My work focuses on translating these analyses into personalized health recommendations and predictive models for disease risk, ultimately expanding our capacity to improve health outcomes through state-of-the-art AI/ML methodologies.
